Stanage Edge lies within the Peak District National Park and, as such, is subject to certain rules and regulations. Wild camping and the lighting of fires in non-designated areas is prohibited.

Approach: Park at Dennis Knoll. From the car park follow a major track known as "The Causeway” gently uphill towards the edge. After approximately 500m of walking, climb the second stile on the left and follow a narrow but well-marked footpath up and left, joining with another, horizontal, path after about 400m. High Neb Buttress Area now lies directly in front — cross directly over the horizontal path and follow a smaller trail up to the crag (15 minutes from P). The sectors comprising Cosmic Buttress Area lay between 50m and 250m left of High Neb Buttress Area (18 - 20 minutes from P). For the Titanic Buttress Area, and Anniversary Arête: continue up the Causeway for a further 950m, cross a stile on the left then follow a well-marked path horizontally left-wards to reach the disjointed buttresses forming this part of the crag. Walking times range from 20 minutes to 25 minutes. Note: the Titanic Buttress Area can also be reached via the High Neb Buttress Area approach (see above) followed by a 300m stroll southwards along the cliff-top path (20 minutes).
