Description

Skriua offers a truly unique climbing experience on steep slabs. The rock is super solid and compact, with pockets of softer minerals eroded out over time. This has left the face riddled with pockets. The climbing is all about moving from hole to hole up the wall – some pockets are big enough to stand securely in, while others only fit a single finger. The style is unlike almost anywhere else.

Skisporet is the easiest line to spot from below. It follows a shallow twin crack wide enough to chimney in places, with sparse but possible protection on trad gear. The line is quite different from the rest of the wall. Generally, climbing here is characterized by a bit of distance between the bolts.

For a good introduction to the typical climbing on the wall, I would rather recommend starting with 1. Mairuta, which is fully bolted. And graded a bit soft to be honest ;)

All routes are multipitch 2-3 pitches long (100-150m). Rappells can be made from all anchors except on Skisporet.

History

Members of Grenland Klatreklubb have occasionally climbed this wall and established routes since the 1990s. The first ascensionists of Spilt Melk, Huldra, and Skisporet are unknown.
