Description

This crag is named Shpella e Pirogoshit (Pirogoshi cave) after the caves found slightly deeper inside the canyon where this crag is located.
Different from what the name might suggest, the climbing here is not in a cave but rather defined by slabby climbing and moderate grades. The routes have seen very little traffic and although they saw some cleaning and maintenance in the spring of 2026, many routes still have some vegetation, dirt, and loose rock. Keep these hazards in mind when climbing here.
All routes are equipped with glue-in bolts, and the anchors have chains with ram's horn style lower-offs.

Accommodation, restaurants and basic groceries can be found in the nearby town of Çorovodë.

History

The routes here were bolted back in 2017 by the Albanian climbers Elion and Enis. The bolting of this crag, together with marking some hiking trails in the region was part of a project funded by the Italian developmental agency CESVI aimed at promoting outdoor tourism in the region.
At the time the routes saw practically no traffic. Over time, the little info that was available about these routes slowly faded from the internet until the routes were all but forgotten.
In the spring of 2026 the routes received some maintenance and many of the lines finally got to see their first ascent.
