The area is access sensitive!
1. Out of site, out of mind.
We've climbed here for years and refrain pad traffic and attention to A and B boulders' approach. Access has not been forbidden, and please help maintain access by Boulder E approach and hike downward or wait until cars pass to minimize attention for A/B approach.
This crag could use some upkeep at A and B but C,D, and E are almost always moss and plant free.
ROCK
Stone is soft, grainy but solid conglomerate. Some spots feel like Sandstone. Another nearby area is called Kalifornea because you feel like your in California but still in Korea. I'll post Kalifornea soon. Was waiting for the local guide book but rather it get traffic so we dont have to keep cleaning. Lol, we've sat on these gems for years and climbed them to the max and some areas look like they were never touched which is both a good and a bad thing.
NO DOCTORING OR CHIPPING (use soft brushes)
This is really a gem of climbing and we hope to share 500 + more routes by 2024. Let's see how 27 crags PUBLICITY and the bouldering community treat this place. 🇰🇷 Juk Jang Sport Climbing was shut down after 20+ years of access because one obnoxious knuckle head disrespectfully spoke to an elder, not knowing it was the land owner nicely asking him to take out the trash.
So please take out your trash and don't talk disrespectfully, not just maintain access.
Foreigners if you dont speak Korean just bow and smile.
SUGGESTIONS
There are no unclimbed variations under V8, please don't suggest clutter and sit starts that aren't listed. They aren't listed for a reason.
BEST TRAIL
Boulder E Trail is the Public Tsunami Emergency Trail and is the safest trail approach.
PAD STASH
Roko Bouldering and Spot Bouldering, and Sangmo have left pads at Boulder C and D to minimize the pad traffic and curious eyes. Boulder E occasionally may have pads but don't expect any.
A/B APPROACH BETA
2. Wait for cars to pass, because people are always curious and they might think it is the paragliders approach trail which should not get confused.
PARKING
3. We recommend parking before E Boulder trail. Remember you are on someone's land so be respectful to all you meet, not just to maintain access but because it makes climbing here more enjoyable to imagine climbing away from worst of the global society but not free from the responsibility to have difficult and enlightening conversations with former racist ideas.
CONSCIOUSNESS IS ACCESSIBLE
Some of these boulder names are from conversations and experiences facing racism externally and internally within South Africa's Apartheid, USA's racism, and Korea's Foreignism.
PARTNERING UP
Tony Petrovics is always ready for a friendly conversation about the boulder name topics, or if you want a spot or want to try hard project. When and Why are simple.
