Ruota del Tempo, located in the Domusnovas area, is one of the first bolted sectors in Sardinia, developed by Maurizio Oviglia and Corrado Conca in 1987.
The crag features a unique type of limestone compared to the neighboring sectors, with slightly rounded edges rather than sharp features. It is an overhanging wall that requires a very technical climbing style, making the routes quite challenging. While the routes often have resting spots, climbing here focuses more on squeezing crimps and delicate movements rather than continuous, flowing sequences.
Over the years, local climbers have extended the original routes, adding further extensions and utilizing the overhanging top part of the wall.
Ruota del Tempo is a sector that climbers either love or hate—there’s no middle ground. Those who enjoy technical, crimp-focused climbing will appreciate its challenges. Facing south, it’s perfect for winter climbing when the sun provides warmth throughout the day.
