🚗 Arrival
Getting to Badolo from Bologna is straightforward. The crag is located about 6 km from Sasso Marconi.
Driving from Bologna along the A1 highway, use the Sasso Marconi exit.
At the roundabout, take the second exit onto SS325, following the signs for Badolo. After 300 meters, turn right, continuing to follow the signs for Badolo. Stay on this road for approximately 4.5 km until you reach a sharp hairpin bend directly below the Rocca di Badolo. You will see a large wooden noticeboard here.
• For Badolo Basso, Badolo New, and Badolo Medio: park here at the hairpin bend.
• For all other sectors: continue driving for 1 km towards the village of Badolo. There is a small car park on the right, opposite another wooden noticeboard. If this is full, drive 150 meters further to the church, where additional parking is available.
🚶♂️ Sectors
• Badolo Basso, Badolo New and Badolo Medio
From the lower car park (at the hairpin bend), take the clear path to the left of the wooden noticeboard. This path leads quickly to Badolo Basso. To get to Badolo New, continue walking south along the base of the rock wall. Badolo Medio is reached by ascending the first part of the Via Ferrata del Pliocenico, which begins between the Badolo Basso and Badolo New sectors.
• Badolo Alto, Badolo Altissimo - Sopra la chiesa and Palestrina “Oscar Bellotti”
From the church car park, walk back down the paved road for 150 meters. The trailhead is on your right, next to a noticeboard. Follow this path to easily reach the sectors.
