Redhill

Climbing has been limited!

The climbing is allowed again in the Coppermine and Grootkop areas. Please don't climb at Easter Island. If you plan to go to Redhill, go in a big group as there have been multiple safety issues over the years.
Finally, the area is known to be a hot spot for criminal activity, with muggings at gunpoint occurring with some frequency.

HOW TO GET THERE
Redhill Main
From Cape Town get onto the M3 and continue on this for about 17km to the end. Turn right onto the M42 (Steenberg Road) and take the second left onto the M64 (Ou Kaapseweg). Continue all the way to the end for about 18km until reaching the end at the coast. Turn right onto the M4 and drive through Glen Cairn for 2.7km until reaching Red Hill Road on the right. Follow this long winding road up the hill for around 5.3km until reaching the 'Klein Plaas Dam' trail on the right. Park here.

Approach: 20 – 30 mins
Follow the flat path for around 10 mins, keeping left at the first fork. Continue on for another 8 mins or so and turn right at the following intersection close to a 'private property' signboard. Continue straight up through another intersection towards the boulders spread out on the hillside. The start of the Runt Area is situated fairly close to the path on the right-hand side, starting with 'The Wave's' overhanging boulder just off the path on the right.
