Description

The wasteland on the shipyard creates a weird combination with precious nature and even a sea view. Passages at the foot and at the top of the cliff are easy. However, special attention is needed for shards of glass, produced by local hooligans for climbers and hikers annoyance.

History

Pansio crag is situated in the hinterlands of Turku oil port and shipyard. The crag has some iron and cement structures dating back to 1940’s, when it was forged by a local shipyard company. These monstrosities, in addition to some urban waste, were no obstacle to the Ahola brothers, when they in 2005 pioneered a selection of routes in Pansio. Ten years later Perttu Ollila started to harness the steepest parts of the cliff faces.
