No special access issues
There is the possibility of some rock falling from the top of the wall and therefore, the use of a climbing helmet is highly recommended. At the Pinar de Bonanza there is a Recreational Area with wooden cabins which are not used nowadays. However, there are occasional ‘activity days’, when it is sometimes possible to drive to the cabins parking area, making the approach somewhat shorter (but be careful not to overrun the activity day as you may get locked in!).
How to reach the parking:
From Alicante: Leave the A-7 at exit 545 (Orihuela/Benferri) and at the first roundabout take exit Alicante A-7/Orihuela. Continue towards Orihuela through CV-930 for 3km and take exit N-340 Orihuela/Redován. At the roundabout turn right towards N-340 Orihuela/Murcia and continue for 3km towards N-340 Murcia. Halfway of a long straight road, just before Raiguero de Bonanza, turn right towards Pinar de Bonanza (immediately after a frozen food factory) and drive straight ahead until you reach street A. There, turn right again and park alongside street B.
From Murcia via A-7: Leave the A-7 at exit 563 (Cabezo de Torres/El Esparragal) and continue in the same direction until the second roundabout towards Alicante/Santomera/Cobatillas. Follow the A-4 towards N-340 Alicante/Santomera. When you arrive at Laderas del Campillo, take the N-340 towards Alicante and drive for around 12km. After Raiguero de Bonanza turn left towards Pinar de Bonanza (just before a frozen food factory) and follow the same instructions as from Alicante.
From Murcia city: Leave the city through Avenida de Alicante N-340 and continue for about 18km until Raiguero de Bonanza, where you follow the same instructions as from Murcia via A-7.
Approach:
After parking in Street B, take Street C and walk straight ahead to reach a recreational area that is no longer in use. Turn right on a vehicle track here, following the signposts to Escuela de Escalada.
