Description

Nuova Ossessione is a highly respected sport climbing crag located on the southeast flank of Monte Monaco. Its defining feature is a magnificent, steep wall of pristine rock covered in tufas.

Tommaso Tamagnini likes to create long, sustained pitches, true endurance test pieces. With just over 30 routes in total, many fall into the higher grades (up to 8a), though there are enough mid-grade options (starting from 6a) to cater to most serious climbers.

🧗‍♀️ Length and Gear:
The routes are notably long, bring enough draws, an 80m rope and plenty of endurance. Make a knot on the end of your rope.

🧭 Conditions:
The wall faces east, making it an excellent afternoon shade crag as it only receives morning sun. This orientation makes it one of the better destinations for climbing on warm days. Conditions are further improved by the presence of light easterly winds.
Shade arrives from 10:30 onwards. The left goes into the shade first.
