Most sectors are shady and recommended for dry seasons. Although you can get some sun in late afternoon at "Neue Heimat" and "Jules Verne Wand" in Wintertime best season for those sectors is Spring and Autumn.

The steep bowl at "Jules Verne Wand" is quite rain protected though the central part can drain after a while of rain. Therefore the most routes dry relative quickly. Same at "Neue Heimat".

There's a route for each desire. Long sustained overhang climbing on perfect sloping pockets at "Jules Verne Wand" in higher grades or juggy climbing for beginners and advanced climbers at "Neue Heimat". Steep technical boulder routes on slopers you can find at "Schöfflblock" and long vertical face climbs at "Totentaler Wand"

Only "Schöfflblock" is suitable for kids. "Jules Verne Wand" is okay as long as your kids stay with you and don't go playing... there's not much room and the street is close.

Accommodation you'll find directly in "Haselbrunn" or "Pottenstein", next camping is "Camping Bärenschlucht".
Everything else you get at Pottenstein.
