Medvedzinska skala

Medvedzínska skala offers unique and unusual sandstone climbing in the Považská Bystrica area. Located in the middle of a forest, its south-facing wall stays pleasantly shaded during the summer months. The area features mostly easier, very well-protected routes, making it suitable also for less experienced climbers. Several smaller boulders in the surroundings offer additional opportunities for bouldering.

For many years, the rock was passed by hikers following the blue-marked trail. Its climbing potential, however, remained undiscovered until 2024–2025, when a group of climbing enthusiasts from Považská Bystrica developed the wall into a fully equipped climbing sector. All routes are equipped with bolts and rappel anchors.
