Description

Kreuzwand is situated in the lower part of the valley at an approximate elevation of 900 meters, right next to the street. It serves as the inaugural crag upon entering the valley and boasts the highest number of routes for a single crag, boasting a total of 130 lines. This area offers a multitude of diverse climbing styles, excelling in slab climbing, featuring steep and lengthy overhanging endurance routes, vertical climbs, and even a few multipitches spanning three pitches. Be mindful, some routes may require a 40-meter rope. The crag caters to families, conveniently providing parking next to the wall, along with restroom facilities.

Given the crag's low altitude and its South/West orientation, it remains climbable throughout the entire winter. During the hotter months, an early start is advisable. In summer, the sun reaches the wall roughly between 11:00 am and 1:30 pm, contingent on its specific section. For those unfazed by the heat, summer climbing is still an option, complemented by opportunities to cool off in the nearby Malta River.

Have fun climbing! And don’t be stupid.*
