Description

The newest addition to the climbing in Oppdal, quite different than the other crags. With only a few exceptions, the routes here are short, intense and slightly overhanging. Expect a lot of negative holds, ergonomic pockets, scoops and crimps. The lack of incut holds makes for a really technical and condition-dependent style.

The rock is shaped by water, but still has good friction. Quality varies from brittle to excellent. Belaying base is very comfortable, but only a few meters from the river so it can get noisy when the river is at its peak.

Currently there are 2 established routes, 3 open projects and 2 closed.

History

Andreas Wenk discovered the wall in connection with canyoning and adventure sports, and saw the potential for climbing. After discovery, the work started with removing loose rocks, dirt and moss. The local climbing club (Oppdal Klatre- og fjellsportsklubb) have sponsored bolts and anchors.
