⛰️La falesia della Stazione è una vera gemma nel cuore della Val Tanaro, caratterizzata da linee di altissima difficoltà che arrivano fino al 9a+. Nonostante l’avvicinamento sia piuttosto lungo, la qualità e la bellezza della falesia ripagano ampiamente lo sforzo necessario per raggiungerla.
La roccia è un calcare bianco, molto compatto e ricco di prese, con un’architettura decisamente strapiombante. L’arrampicata è prevalentemente di continuità, fisica ed esigente, con tiri lunghi che variano indicativamente dai 20 ai 35 metri e che richiedono un alto livello di resistenza e lettura dei movimenti.
La base della falesia è ampia e relativamente comoda, potenzialmente adatta anche alla presenza di bambini; tuttavia, l’accesso non è semplice e rende la zona poco adatta a un contesto realmente “family friendly”. Inoltre, l’esposizione e la conformazione della parete rendono la falesia particolarmente fredda, ideale quindi per le giornate più calde e meno indicata nei periodi freddi.
Ma si sa che le condiioni migliori ci sono con il freddo.

⛰️The Astrazione crag is a true gem in the heart of the Val Tanaro, featuring routes of extremely high difficulty, reaching up to 9a+. Although the approach is relatively long, the quality and beauty of the crag more than justify the effort required to reach it.
The rock is white limestone, very compact and rich in holds, with a markedly overhanging architecture. Climbing here is predominantly sustained and physical, with long routes generally ranging from 20 to 35 meters, demanding a high level of endurance and movement efficiency.
The base of the crag is spacious and relatively comfortable, potentially suitable for the presence of children; however, the approach itself is not easy, making the area not truly family-friendly. In addition, the exposure and shape of the wall make the crag particularly cold, making it ideal for hot days and less suitable during colder periods. But you know that the colder conditions are the best

⏪⌚The history of the area began in the 1980s, when several alpine-style routes were established in the surrounding cliffs by Ravotto, Colombo, and Manfredi. However, the more overhanging section remained in the background for many years and was not seriously considered for sport climbing.

Only much later, in 2013, Matteo Pino, Matteo Ingrassia, and Anna Gonzales recognized the potential of the wall but decided not to bolt any routes due to the extremely high level of difficulty involved. Paolo Ramò also passed beneath the wall at a later time and, despite acknowledging its potential, chose not to intervene.

The turning point came in 2023, when Carlo Giuliberti, together with Bogliaccino and Lorenzo, began bolting the first routes, marking the beginning of a new and still young chapter of high-difficulty climbing in the Val Tanaro.

⏪⌚La storia dell’area inizia negli anni ’80, quando nei dintorni vennero aperte alcune linee in stile alpinistico, ideate da Ravotto, Colombo e Manfredi. Tuttavia, la zona più strapiombante rimase a lungo in secondo piano e non venne presa seriamente in considerazione per l’arrampicata sportiva.

Solo molti anni dopo, nel 2013, Matteo Pino, Matteo Ingrassia e Anna Gonzales notarono il potenziale della parete, ma decisero di non chiodare alcuna linea a causa dell’altissima difficoltà percepita. Anche Paolo Ramò, pur passando successivamente sotto la parete e riconoscendone il valore, scelse di non intervenire.

La svolta arrivò nel 2023, quando Carlo Giuliberti, insieme a Bogliaccino e Lorenzo, iniziò a chiodare le prime vie, dando così inizio a una nuova e breve storia dell’arrampicata di alta difficoltà in Val Tanaro.
