Description

La Pancha is an amazing, huge dome of limestone rising high above Redován, with multi pitch routes of up to 120m. Along with its neighbour El Rut, it is ideal for climbers seeking routes in the middle and lower grades. La Pancha has become very popular due to the perfect bolting and numerous routes in the 5s and 6s, which are often longer than 30m. The great quality rock, full of crimps and pockets, makes it a perfect place to start a lead climbing career. Each route even has a small plaque at the base, with its name and grade. There is also a small sector away from the main wall where you can extend your climbing day in the shade until after 15:00h.

History

The local climber, José Hernández, also known as ‘Botri’, has been the main bolter of this crag since the 80´s, with the help of David Medina and Francisco Hurtado.
