To reach Koh Tao from any city in Thailand, you first need to get to Chumphon or Surat Thani, in the south-est side of the country, the two ports conveniently accessible from many major Thai cities. You can comfortably inquire at your accommodation's reception for a direct trip to Koh Tao, securing a package that includes both bus and ferry for easier transfer. Once you've taken the ferry to Koh Tao, wich is from 6 to 9 hours, and arrived at the port, the recommendation is to rent a motorcycle, as the island has significant ups and downs, and it's strongly discouraged to travel on foot, only the. The trail is clear and visible on the 27crags map. The latter may have trails crossing rocks or large boulders, making them not easily identifiable by sight. It is highly advisable to use the GPS provided on the 27crags map, as sometimes the tide can make it challenging to get close to the boulders.
Parking is generally not an issue, as long as you park respectfully.
