King of Thrones
Another amphitheatrical wall above town, this sector offers a mix of tufa and crimp climbing in the low mid-grades on its prominent, overhanging left side, while the right side features beginner-friendly, technical routes on dark alpine limestone.
Some of the routes have awkward clipping positions and could benefit from a bit of “rebolting love” by experienced and motivated equippers.
The big advantages here are the long-lasting shade, the scenic approach through the forest, and the stunning view over the town, making it well worth the visit.
Dornröschen and Peace Rock
are two vertical grey walls located just to the right of Sector King of Thrones. These are perfect sectors for beginners and easy climbers, with most routes falling into the plaisir 6th grades.
The climbing is slab to vertical on dark grey limestone, following features filled with jugs and a wide variety of crimps. Many routes are around 30 meters long, making this a great spot to get back in shape or simply enjoy some mileage in enjoyable, moderate terrain.
War Altar
Not much is known about the War Altar sector, except that it was bolted by our friend Krystof and, like the nearby sectors, gets plenty of sun. Interestingly, during the Easter celebration in 2025, the sector caught fire when balloons ignited the bushes below. Cheers to the fiery balloons and thanks to the merchant who brought this unique tradition all the way from far-off China to Leonidio!
