Kastello

Kastello is the closest climbing area to the airport. Its highlight is the Cave sector, a stunning overhang with excellent routes. Nearby, the Appetizer and Tomaninu sectors offer enjoyable and accessible routes for climbers of varying skill levels. The Flo sector is particularly convenient, allowing you to belay almost directly from your car 😉.

Close to the sectors lies Diakoftis, a beautiful beach perfect for relaxation. A tavern is open nearby during the climbing season.

The Tomaninu and Flo sectors were the first climbing areas established on Karpathos, bolted by windsurfers around 2011.

Later, Polish climbers arrived and significantly advanced the island’s climbing scene, a legacy they continue to build. Living near the airport, they focused on developing Kastello, creating its standout Cave and Appetizer sectors.
