Technique, finger strength, footwork, endurance – Sector Kamares demands it all. A large part of the sector faces south, making the colder winter months the prime season. However, there’s also an east-facing section that offers some of the best 7th and 8th grade routes in all of Leonidio.
Once again, this sector was part of the AOS bolting program and was likely completed around 2015/16. I remember climbing there at the end of 2016, when almost all of the lines were still untouched—except for the "warm-up" crack Modistros, which was a 7a+ back then.
Not much has happened in the sector since. Jörg Andreas extended Pizza... and turned it into the king line it is today. I added two more routes inside the cave, which rarely see repeats, and improved the situation with Digmata Grafis and at some point, one of the AOS team members returned and equipped a few "warm-up" routes on the far left side of the sector—more crumbly than anything else.
