Description

Countless cliffs are scattered throughout big parts of rural Albania that seem to hold a promise of great climbing adventures. Kabash is a good example of how this can be. The setting is a calm somewhat remote village accessed by a scenic drive. The landscape is spectacular, the locals friendly and the food fresh. The rock? The rock is also good!

So far two sectors have been explored which balance each other out nicely. One has morning shade, the other gets shade in the afternoon. One has subtle, vertical and lightly overhanging climbing, the other steep powerful climbing on tufas.

The region also has hiking, canyons and caves to explore. For accommodation, you can camp or rent a cabin at 'Restaurant Nardi' which is right where the parking marker for the crag is. There you can also get drinking water, a toilet and a meal. For things you are looking to cook yourself, make sure to stock up on supplies before coming as there is no markets close by!

History

All the routes that have been developed here were bolted by a group of visiting Italian climbers in the fall of 2023.
