Description

🧗‍♀️
An island in southern Norway. Medium to excellent quality of rock and still plenty of potential. Good variety of problems and many good problems on the more moderate part of the grading scale. In the last few years, several hard sevens and eights have also been established.

🍃☀️🍂❄️
Bouldering all year round, in the summer mosquitoes and ticks can be a problem - bring mosquito repellent.

Best conditions are typically in April, May and August to October.

History

In the 2000s Justøy saw sporadic bouldering from locals. More (serious) development started in the 2010s, and has been ongoing since then. Many boulders need lot's of cleaning so development takes time. One is often rewarded with excellent quality of rock. The best rock is usually covered and protected by dirt and moss.

Many keen climbers, especially from the local clubs (CKK and GAKK), have cleaned and done first ascents all year round. Some summer tourists have also contributed to the development.
