Description

Hričovské Podhradie is a picturesque village with the dominant ruins of the Hričov Castle surrounded by several rock formations. The most significant ones, such as Hričovská skalná ihla and Hričovské rify, are protected, and climbing is not allowed on them.
However, in the last year a new, smaller sector of Dobroňská was bolted, and fans of traditional climbing will also find something to enjoy in the valley below the castle ruins.

DOBROŇSKÁ sector:
Smaller, north-facing sector with quick and easy approach close to parking.

KORZO sector:
A sector hidden in the valley below the castle ruins, where you will almost certainly climb alone. Local climbers were active here especially in the 80s. After a long period of neglect, the routes in the sector were cleaned from vegetation and new anchors were installed. The routes here are traditional, using your own gear is necessary.

History

Climbing in this area has a relatively short history, beginning around 1980 with the first routes established in the Korzo sector. Some additional climbs were made in sectors that are now closed due to nature protection efforts.
