Høvdingen or the Chief, is said to have broken appart from Håøya in the 90-ties with an enormous bang. It is easilly found and acessed with a boat of from a SUP board. Start at the NE corner, with some great footholds and grips in the beginning. The Crux is after about 4 When you reach the crossroad og the crag, by the N side of the overhang, follow the crag to the left, and finish by the SØ end of the overhang.
A bunch of SUPers and boulderers discovered Høvdingen as a potensial boulder one late evening in juli 2025, during our paddeling around Håøya. Høvdingen or the Chief, stood there late night, trying to hide out, as to avoid being discovered, so it could still live in pease with its surroundings as it has been doing ever since in the 90ties when it splitted appart with the mainland of Håøya.
Be aware! Every time you attempt to climb the majestetic giant, the wind becomes stronger, predators start swirling above and it might even start raining. We are starting to belive there might be a serious curse going on?!?
