⛰️
Limestone climbing at its best in the mountains in central Switzerland, right at eh base of the Grosser Mythen, quite an iconic mountain. If you find some extra time, check out the hiking path leading to the summit.
The rock quality is better as compared to your average Swiss limestone sport crag: superb, grey, compact rock. Some of the harder routes go through steeper sections of yellow limestone, still high quality routes. It is well suited for kids, families and beginners, but also has several routes in the 6c-7c range for those wanting to test their strength.
🧗
The climbing varies in style. Most routes are vertical to slabby in nature others feature cracks and even some overhangs can be enjoyed at he upper grades.
🗓️ ☀️ 🍂
Best enjoyed during the late spring, summer and autumn, after the snow is melted and before it snows again . It is fully exposed to the intense sun, so come on a cloudy day or bring lots of sunscreen.
In the summer time the crag is in the shade after about 17:00, then you will also find good conditions, as there is often a bit of a breeze. As an added benefit most people will actually leave in the late afternoon, so if you stay late, you will likely be by yourself.
You can also climb climb here during winter, just have to take care that there is no to much fresh snow.
