Himmeldalen

Sport climbing up to 2 pitches long, up to 50-60 meters. Finnmark's largest sport climbing area. Facing south west. Short approach.

Note: Beware of loose rock, most of the crag is sandstone.

Season: About May–September/October, can be longer depending on your comfort level.

There is a dry toilet 30 m left from the path between Hovedberget B and Hovedberget Vest, and a lean-to shelter on far left (Hovedberget Vest).

All original grading is done in Norwegian grades.

Himmeldalen has potential for many new routes, especially in Fjellvåkberget and Trerissberget above and a little further into the valley from Rypeberget. Contact Alta Klatreklubb altaklatreklubb.no
