This is the beginning of route Leppäkeihäs, of 1978, by Ilkka Paloheimo and Jan von Plato. The original route goes straight up the overhanging layback. The "variation" is an inappropriate misnomer.

Grade about 6b for the crux, after that, climb up and to the left with some loose rock and straight up (as of 4 Aug 2021). Upper part requires careful protection placements.
