Description

The Gulag sector packs around 100 problems. Back in the day, part of it used to be a quarry, so the rock is solid and varied. Not long ago, the local spruce forest got chopped down, which means the blocs dry fast and stay pretty clean – no moss creeping in. With a eastt-facing aspect, most of the problems stay in the shade during the aftrnoon. There's something for everyone here, with grades ranging from soft 5s all the way up to gnarly 8C testpieces.

Climbing has been limited!

1) Please respect these rules and remember that you climb in the Protected Landscape Area.
• No fires.
• Respect the temporary area closures (nesting birds, etc.).
• Do not drive a car on a closed road, park considerately and only in designated parking areas.
• Do not create any handholds or footholds.
• Sleep only in designated places.
• Do not leave any trash after yourself.
• Bury consecutive own excrement, including toilet paper.
• Before leaving, always clean the stone from the chalk, especially the tick marks.
• For cleaning use brushes made from natural materials.
• Use only existing trails and paths.
• Be quiet in the forest, do not disturb the wildlife or other visitors.
• Do not use burner or other aggressive tools which destroy the rock.

2)Access:
Park by the roadside (space for only two cars), then follow the small trail downhill until you reach an old bridge. Cross it, and just after the end of the bridge, take the path going uphill. After about 70 m, you’ll reach a forest road. Turn right and follow the gentle incline, keeping to the left. After roughly 250 m, you’ll arrive at the start of the sector.
Alternatively, the best option is to park at the main parking lot near the crossroads. From there, follow the road north. After about 400 m, you’ll reach the same starting point via the small parking area.

3) Follow the paths on the map to get to the sectors.
