In Aalkorb you can climb the hole year. The north faced walls of Madergedenkwand, Rupertuswand, Spasswand and Frankenstüble are perfect for summerdays, also for spring and autumn. Mediterranean like Freudenhaus and Geckofels gets sun before afternoon in summer and in the afternoon in wintertime. It can get quite warm at sunny winter.

Especially "Freudenhaus" and "Geckofels" stay dry on rainy days and/or dry within a few hours. The north facing sectors keep wetness for days, though the steep overhanging routes still can be climbed in temporary rain.
"Frankenstüble" is just worth a visit from spring to autumn in dry season.

In Aalkorb there's the full range of climbing in every grade. Particularly at "freudenhaus" you get vertical climbing on jugs and pockets in mid grades on the right side and steep fingery power climbing on the left. Same at "Geckofels". Longer routes at "Rupertuswand" in crimpy light overhangs or 45° climbing at "Spasswand". "Madergedenkwand" offers great endurance routes on pockets with it's kingline "Stalingrad". "Frankenstüble" might be the only crag in this area with such a big concentration of easy routes with simultaneous well protection.

"Freudenhaus" is perfect for the whole Family. Even the access is suitable for buggies. The north facing sectors are more unsuitable for kids. The base of the sectors are ok if somebody's watching after the kids but the access is steep and sloping. "Rupertus Wand" is absolutely unsuitable.

Next shopping is in Waischenfeld or Hollfeld, just as Restaurants. In Plankenfels is a tavern with good food and own butchery, best beer is at the brewery in Nankendorf. For Camping the nearest is Waischenfeld.
