Description

Did you come to Arco looking for some pockets, but did you only find crimpers, crimpers and more crimpers? You do not have to worry anymore, cause you just visited the perfect topo!
La Falesia Dimenticata is a brand new crag (2019) located in the dreaming area of San Lorenzo in Banale. The crag has high quality conglomerate walls full of pockets, that offer routes from the fourth grade till 8a. Everyone can enjoy a climbing day here: the style is quite various, as there are technical slabs and physical overhangs, and there are both easy and demanding lines.
The crag base is beautiful. There is a nice flat lawn crossed by a small freshwater spring, the perfect spot for children to play and have a picnic.
The equipment is new and the bolts are close to each other.
Thanks to its southern exposition, La Falesia Dimenticata allows to climb during winter, but even the late afternoon of mid-seasons works well.
The approach is a bit long, but it is really easy and offers a nice view over the surrounding valleys.

La Falesia Dimenticata was developed thanks to the hard work of the Dolomiti Open association, which took care of everything to make this area so beautiful. Please respect its work and keep the crag clean.

History

La Falesia Dimenticata was recently re-bolted, but it was discovered many years ago. The crag was born in the 80s and was very successful at the time. One day in the early 1990s, the owner of the field, fed up with the presence of so many climbers, decided to close the crag and get rid of the routes equipment.
2018 was the turning point for La Falesia Dimenticata! Dolomiti Open association has started a crowdfunding, thanks to which it has been able to buy the field, clean the wall and bolt again some of the original routes. The work continued in 2019, with new routes and the construction of a toilet. Further work is still programmed, so stay updated!
