⛰️ Scudo Bianco is a small crag immersed in a quiet and panoramic setting, characterized by compact and solid limestone rock. Although the routes are not numerous, each pitch is well bolted and climbing here always offers a good experience.
Difficulties range from easy to hard, with a selection suitable both for beginners and for those looking for more technical and intense routes. There are also some two-pitch routes, which add a touch of verticality and allow gaining confidence with multi-pitch climbing, in an intimate and never harsh environment.
The climbing develops on vertical walls and slabs, often with continuous sections and well-defined moves. Despite its small size, it offers beautiful and interesting routes, ideal for a quiet climbing day away from crowds.
Cournalet is in the heart of the Vernante valley, immersed in a suggestive natural environment and crossed by a fresh stream. It is one of the most frequented and appreciated crags in the province of Cuneo. The rock, a grey limestone of excellent quality, offers an extraordinary variety of styles: from technical and delicate slab climbs, to vertical walls requiring strength and finger strength, up to short overhangs with intense and well-defined moves. The grip is excellent and immediately instills confidence, making the climb pleasant from the first moves.
In some sectors, routes with scooped holds appear, but most routes develop on natural, compact, and solid rock. The exposure is favorable in all seasons: the right sector, facing south, gets sun for most of the day, while the other sectors, facing southwest, allow climbing in the morning shade. Even in the hottest months, climbing remains pleasant thanks to constant ventilation.
The bolting is modern and well done: 8mm bolts on most routes, with some exceptions using 10mm resin-fixed bolts. Protection is close and designed to offer safety even to less experienced climbers. All anchors are equipped with chains and maillons for rappelling.
At the base of the wall, tables and benches invite resting and relaxing between pitches, contributing to making Cournalet an ideal place for a day of climbing, both for those taking their first steps on rock and for those seeking more challenging routes in a quiet and well-equipped environment.

⛰️Scudo Bianco è una piccola falesia immersa in un contesto tranquillo e panoramico, caratterizzata da una roccia calcarea compatta e solida. Sebbene le vie non siano numerose, ogni tiro è ben tracciato e arrampicare qui regala sempre buone sensazioni.
Le difficoltà spaziano dal facile al difficile, con una selezione adatta sia a chi è alle prime armi sia a chi cerca tiri più tecnici e intensi. Sono presenti anche alcune vie su due lunghezze, che aggiungono un tocco di verticalità e permettono di prendere confidenza con l'arrampicata su più tiri, in un ambiente raccolto e mai severo.
La scalata si sviluppa su muri verticali e placche, con sezioni spesso continue e movimenti ben definiti. È una falesia che, pur nella sua dimensione contenuta, sa offrire vie belle e interessanti, ideali per una giornata di arrampicata tranquilla, lontano dalla folla.
Cournalet è nel cuore del vallone di Vernante, immersa in un ambiente naturale suggestivo e attraversata da un fresco ruscello, si trova la falesia del Cournalet, una delle più frequentate e apprezzate della provincia di Cuneo. La roccia, un calcare grigio di eccellente qualità, offre una straordinaria varietà di stili: dalle placche abbattute, tecniche e delicate, ai muri verticali di forza e dita, fino a brevi strapiombi con passaggi intensi e ben definiti. L’aderenza è ottima e trasmette subito fiducia, rendendo la scalata piacevole sin dai primi movimenti.
In alcuni settori si incontrano vie con prese scavate, ma la maggior parte dei tiri si sviluppa su roccia naturale, compatta e solida. L’esposizione è favorevole in tutte le stagioni: il settore destro, rivolto a sud, prende sole per gran parte della giornata, mentre gli altri settori, orientati a sud-ovest, permettono di arrampicare all’ombra al mattino. Anche nei mesi più caldi l’arrampicata rimane gradevole grazie alla costante ventilazione.
La chiodatura è moderna e curata: spit da 8mm in gran parte delle vie, con alcune eccezioni a fittoni resinati da 10mm. Le protezioni sono ravvicinate e pensate per offrire sicurezza anche ai meno esperti. Tutte le soste sono dotate di catena e maillon per la calata.
Alla base della parete, tavoli e panche invitano alla sosta e al relax tra un tiro e l’altro, contribuendo a rendere il Cournalet un luogo ideale per trascorrere una giornata di arrampicata, sia per chi muove i primi passi su roccia, sia per chi cerca tiri più impegnativi in un ambiente tranquillo e ben attrezzato.
