Description

Located just behind the well-known Bóveda de Orihuela crag and bolted shortly after it, the El Balcón sector is one of those crags that, although easily visible from main roads, has practically remained unnoticed by most climbers for a long time. Perhaps its south-facing orientation and the lack of available information until now, have both been key factors in why its routes have received so few visits up until today.

History

The routes were bolted in the early 2000s by Javier and Miguel Penalva, together with the collaboration of Paco Gutiérrez “Paquito,” Alejandro Agulló, and Ramón Gómez “Cone.”
The lines, ranging from 16 to 28 meters, run up through demanding vertical or slightly overhanging walls in the 6th and 7th grades, making them especially suitable for the coldest winter days.
