Mørkvedsteinen

🌍 This is primarily a lone boulder by a small creek in the woods near Mørkved. It has easy access and offers a good range of grades.

🧗‍♀️⛰ The rock qulity is mediocre but one shouldn't complain with a boulder this close to the town. It offers slabs and overhangs and also some nerve wrecking highballing. The landings are not perfect and most of them are slanting. So be carefull how you place your pads and preferably bring a spotter. Two pads must be considered a minimum.

👶 The area is not particularly child friendly and you can't bring a stroller into the boulder.

The block was first found and brushed by Georg Waller in 2016 who put up all the lines on the north side of the block. An honourable mention should be that Psychadelic Bungee jump took him around 30 minutes to top out as he got stuck almost at the top and couldn't quite reach the last hold...with only one pad on slanting ground below him...and no spotter. In august 2021 Rasmus Bølling draged highball master Ole Dovland and Jonas Hilmo there, and the harder lines on the west and southside was put up. Notably Ole's FA of Danger Dovland brought sweat on his spotters foreheads.
