Description

Team Pahadi Bakra, as part of the Chhattisgarh Climbing Initiative (CCI), established this region known as the "Deshdekha Climbing Sector (DCS)". CCI is a modest initiative with a goal of expanding the rock climbing scene in Chhattisgarh. This project's first location, DCS, has been aggressively developed by some of the best climbers and route-setters in the nation.
This region is special since it offers all types of climbing, including bouldering, sport climbing, and traditional multipitch. Our country has only few locations with these natural terrain features.

It's a beautiful location where you can see the entire Chhattisgarh area of Jashpur. What else is there to say about this area than the fact that it is fantastic? Standing on this hilltop and looking down at the lower area gives you a wonderful feeling. Another thing is that the green ground and the blue sky seem to be embracing each other. One of the best descriptions of this Mountain is the name "Deshdekha". The Mayali Dam appears to be in good condition from this angle. You can see the entirety of Jashpur from the summit of Deshdekha. The scenery is much more beautiful and enjoyable on wet days.

The Tyndall effect may be seen on the road leading to this place, and the panoramic view of Mayali and sunrise from this location is stunning, but there is a lot of fog before sunrise.

History

The term "Deshdekha" (which means "watching over the country") comes from the fact that an ancient tribal king used to watch over his entire realm and enemy activity from this same location. Tribes surround this location, and some of them were directly ruled by the President.
Around June 2018, when the Pahadi Bakra team made their initial visit, climbing here began. Since then, it has evolved into the hub of climbing in and around Jashpur. The crew was finally able to develop the region in 2023 with the assistance of the local authorities.
Beginning in July 2023, it is available to the general public for climbing.
