If you want to get to Paklenica you can do it either from the coastal or the continental side:
The coastal option leads from Rijeka by Adriatic Highway, passes Senj, Karlobag all the way to Starigrad- Paklenica (180 km from Rijeka). Zadar is 46 km to the south of Starigrad.
The continental option is very easy. It leads from Zagreb by highway to Maslenica (junction of the Adriatic road) and further on to Starigrad-Paklenica (270 km from Zagreb). Approximately 200 m from the hotel Alan there is a narrow asphalt road turning off the main road towards the village Marasovići (there is the sign “National Park Paklenica” at the very spot where the roads branch off). Just after passing Marasovići you will see the entrance to the National Park. From here you can drive 2 more km to the parking lot and this parking lot is taken as a starting point for most of the described climbing routes.

Approach Veliki Ćuk : Take the path for Anića luka until the second bridge. Here turn right and upward along the scree. After approximately 50 m turn right in the direction of the rock outcrop. Here you have to climb upwards for a while and then along the drawn out shortcut on the right and further until the foot of the rock face (15-20 min). For routes in the north face also turn to the right after the second bridge, but then stick to the gully (fixed ropes) and along the gully get to the scree (Nuglo) at the foot of the N-face (30 min.). It is very simple to approach routes in the right section of the rock face (13-19): from the upper parking lot all the way up to the foot of the rock face.
🏃🏼♂️Descent: From Veliki Ćuk top in the notch between Ćuk and Anića kuk. Use steel cables to get to the scree. When you cross half of the scree turn right until you get to the foot of the Stup and further more towards the creek. For routes from number 3 and more, the quicker alternative is the descending down the steep bushy gully in the N-face.
🧗🏼♂️Approach Mali Ćuk: Path through Klanci to the upper parking lot and right to the foot of the wall (5 min).
🏃🏼♂️Descent: From the top to the little notch. Further to the right along the gully, and after 40 m cross left to the next gully, and then follow the gully until the creek (10-15 min).
