It is just a stone's throw away from the small village of Covelo and the city of Trento: the climbing area of Covelo offers both a sport climbing sector and a boulder wall.

The sport routes sector is a compact limestone wall standing above the village of Covelo. This climbing wall offers a good challenge for experienced climbers, having 10 routes ranging from 6c+ to 8a+.
The lines demand both technical skills and raw power, since the wall is really crimpy and in its central part feature a steep roof, with challenging bouldery moves.
The ideal seasons are the mid ones, as the limestone provides best friction with the temperatures. The early mornings of winter can also be an enjoyable time for a climb. The crag is comfortable and while the approach may be slightly longer than what you find in Arco, it serves as a fantastic warm-up for the main event.

For those who seek a different kind of climbing style, the Covelo Boulder awaits. This small cave provides a diverse range of challenging problems that will keep you engaged for hours. Climbing within the cave requires a high amount of strength.
The friction inside the cave is very good, holds are generally crimps, cracks and pockets.
An added perk is the cave's ability to shelter climbers from the rain: you can take refuge here and continue your climbing experience.
Covelo Boulder is a good hub for the local climbing community. You will often find passionate climbers from Terlago training here after work.

After a good day of climbing, don't forget to explore the beauty of the nearby Lamar lakes. They are just a short drive away from Covelo and offer additional small climbing sectors for you to explore, besides a peaceful resting area.

History

Covelo sport sector has been discovered and bolted by the strong guys Gianguido Dalfovo, Danilo Bonvecchio and Marco Zanni (Sbiru), as for many other places in this area.
The bouldery sector is frequented by the local climbing community. Among them we remember Davide Depaoli, Zanella brothers and Andrea Perego.
