Description

Buffa Wall is an impressive face wall home to Cyprus’ king tufa line, Buffa Jewel. Approaching the rock, what appears blank at first gives rise to a unique and technical endurance style, with crimps, pockets, and the occasional tufa. You’ll also find some shorter climbs with more of a power endurance focus and lots of potential for harder lines. Nestled beneath Buffavento Castle, you can enjoy the clouds gathering around the mountain peaks surrounding the area creating an isolated, remote feel.

Conditions

Buffa Wall is a northeast-facing wall with morning sun and afternoon shade, making it a good option for scorching summer days. In the summer, the wall is in full shade around 1:00 p.m. Some tufa lines will seep after heavy rains, but most routes are quick-drying.

History

A single king line, Buffa Jewel, was bolted by Stefanos Papadopoulos and Andreas Parparinos in 2016. Stefanos bolted most of the rest of the crag in 2022.
