The Boves climbing area is truly versatile, offering both well-bolted sport climbing crags and boulders scattered along the river. It’s an ideal spot for everyone: families looking for a day in nature, solo climbers training in peace, or groups of friends exploring a relaxed and beautiful setting.
There are several barbecue areas along the valley, perfect for a break between sessions—just bring your own food and enjoy the quiet surroundings. In the warmer months, it's also possible to take a dip in the river, making the experience even more refreshing.
The landscape is a semi-alpine environment, full of charm, with forests, water, and impressive rock formations. Despite its wild appearance, Boves is located just a few minutes from Cuneo, which makes it easily accessible and a great base to explore other crags nearby on the same day.
The rock is serpentinite, and the climbing style is mainly technical, often on small footholds and requiring precision. Near the river, the boulders become more powerful and slopy, with smooth holds that demand good finger strength and body tension. Grades range from 3rd to 8th, so there's something for everyone.
The sport routes are usually short but well-equipped, offering technical movement in a compact format. Parking spots are spread along the valley, each giving access to a specific micro-sector. Approaches are always logical and very short. If one sector is busy, it's easy to move to the next.
The area still holds a lot of potential—many boulders are waiting to be brushed and climbed. The proximity to Cuneo also allows for flexible planning and the possibility of visiting multiple sectors in a single day.

La zona d'arrampicata di Boves è davvero versatile, con falesie ben attrezzate e massi sparsi lungo il fiume. È il luogo ideale per tutti: famiglie in cerca di una giornata nella natura, climber solitari che vogliono allenarsi in tranquillità, o gruppi di amici in cerca di un ambiente rilassato e affascinante.
Lungo la valle si trovano diverse aree barbecue, perfette per una pausa tra una sessione e l'altra: basta portarsi da mangiare e godersi la tranquillità del posto. Nei mesi più caldi è anche possibile fare un bagno nel fiume, rendendo l’esperienza ancora più piacevole.
Il paesaggio è semi-alpino, ricco di fascino, con boschi, acqua e imponenti formazioni rocciose. Nonostante l’aspetto selvaggio, Boves si trova a pochi minuti da Cuneo, il che la rende facilmente accessibile e un’ottima base per esplorare altri settori nelle vicinanze nella stessa giornata.
La roccia è serpentinite, e lo stile d’arrampicata è principalmente tecnico, spesso su piccoli appoggi che richiedono precisione. Nei pressi del fiume, i blocchi diventano più fisici e levigati, con prese lisce che mettono alla prova forza e tensione corporea. I gradi spaziano dal terzo all’ottavo, offrendo possibilità per tutti i livelli.
Le vie sportive sono solitamente brevi ma ben attrezzate, con movimenti tecnici concentrati in pochi metri. I parcheggi sono distribuiti lungo la valle, ognuno collegato a un micro-settore specifico. Gli avvicinamenti sono sempre logici e molto brevi. Se un settore è affollato, è facile spostarsi al successivo.
L’area ha ancora molto potenziale: ci sono molti massi che aspettano solo di essere puliti e scalati. La vicinanza a Cuneo permette una grande flessibilità nella pianificazione, con la possibilità di visitare più settori in un solo giorno.

C’est un lieu idéal pour tous : familles cherchant une journée en pleine nature, grimpeurs solitaires souhaitant s’entraîner en paix, ou groupes d’amis à la recherche d’un cadre agréable et relaxant.
Plusieurs aires de barbecue sont aménagées tout au long de la vallée, parfaites pour faire une pause entre deux sessions : il suffit d’apporter sa propre nourriture et de profiter du calme des lieux. En été, il est aussi possible de se baigner dans la rivière, ce qui rend l’expérience encore plus rafraîchissante.
