Description

Bohus is a sport climbing crag that was developed during summer 2002. The crag hasn’t become that popular mostly depending on the lack of good warm-ups and the fact that the routes start from a pretty narrow ledge.

ASPECT AND CLIMATE
The crag faces south and can get pretty warm in the summer (it gets in the shade first in the late afternoon).
The crag isn’t visited so often by the climbers because of the thick deciduous forest in front of it, a bit swampy access path and pretty detachable lower parts of the crag.

THE ROUTES
Most of the routes in Bohus are steep (at least after you’ve passed the loose rocks in the intros), pretty short and quite difficult.
All routes are bolted and equipped with lower-offs.

History

The crag was developed in 2003. It has not seen much action since than.

🚗
From Gothenburg take motorway E6 northwards. Leave the motorway at exit 84, Jordfallsmotet (signs for Karlstad/Kungälv S) and follow the signs for Bohus. In Bohus turn left onto Alkalievägen. After about 500 m turn left onto Katodvägen, take the first left (Jordfallsvägen) and then the first right onto Bäckvägen which is a dead-end street. Park at the end of the street.
The drive is about 19 km long.
🚶‍♀️
From the car park follow the path towards the crag and after about 350 m you should spot the crag on your left side (the walk in can be pretty swampy).
