Description

Bergstation is one of the best and most known Crags of Zillertal. With it's sunny location and amazing feature rich and partly spectacularly long routes it is mostly for more experienced climbers. There are a few easier routes now especially in the sector Leaner. And a lot of cool routes between 6b and 7c in sector "By the Way". A lot of the top tier routes are found in the 7b to 8b range.

History

Markus Schwaiger had a look at the Bergstation for the first time in 2002 at the lowest Sector "By the Way". He could bolt and climb a couple of nice routes in the first year. In 2004 he went to the next wall to have a look and he stood under the big wall of "coque au vin". He couldn´t believe that there was not a single bolt in the entire wall. So he started to open the next routes together with Wolfi Rottensteiner. Again it took a couple of years till the rest of the sector were opened by the Zillertal climbing community. Now it´s one of the main crags in Zillertal and Bergstation can´t be compared with anything.
Markus`s words: "It is simply an ingenious and extremely beautiful wall that God must have made for climbing".
