Mount Barek, famous for its constant wind, offers year-round climbing opportunities at 1500 meters. The rock structure is granite and andesite and provides a pleasant climbing experience once the moss on the rock surface is cleaned. The area has varieties such as crimpy vertical and overhang boulders. Occasional lengthier cracks are an excellent option for trad climbing. Because the rocks extend along the northeast and southwest slopes, climbing in the shade in all seasons is always possible, depending on the orientation, daily temperature, and wind fluctuations.

Kesilmeyen rüzgârıyla ünlü Barek Dağı, 1500 metre rakımıyla neredeyse 12 ay boyunca tırmanış imkanı sunuyor. Kaya yapısı granit, andezit olup, kaya yüzeyindeki yosunlar temizlendikten sonra keyifli bir tırmanış tecrübesi sunmaktadır. Bölgede çok sayıda farklı nitelikte keskin ve sağlam kapalı tutuşlu yüzey rotaların yanında negatif boulderlar bulunmaktadır. Ayrıca yüksek çatlaklar geleneksel tırmanış için güzel bir seçenektir. Kayaların kuzeydoğu ve güneybatı yamaçları boyunca uzanması sayesinde, güneşe, günlük sıcaklığa ve rüzgar yönüne bağlı olarak her mevsim gölgede tırmanmak mümkündür.

Inspired by the nearby development that started in 2014 around Köprüköy, which is on the outskirts of Mount Barek, Emre Baran discovered the area and took the lead in developing boulders in the first couple months of 2024. The bouldering community, mainly in Ankara and Turkey as well, acknowledged and supported his continued efforts and always deeply appreciated the hard work of cleaning and preparing the routes. The area's short history gives strong clues to the area's potential in the future. Stay tuned!

Barek Dağının eteklerindeki Köprüköy civarında 2014’ten bu yana süren boulder geliştirme etkinliğinden de esinlenerek, 2024’ün ilk aylarında keşfettiği bu bölgedeki gelişime Emre Baran öncülük etti ve etmeye devam ediyor.
