Description

Aresos
This sector covers climbers needs from beginners up to more advanced ones. Especially the easy lines on the right are among the best in Leonidio. Comfortable belay areas, a great view and an approach that will warm up your calves is what you get here. There are some very nice lines in the overhanging part to the left as well what makes it interesting for couples or groups with diverting skills. Big plus is the slight eastern orientation of the right slabs that make it possible to climb in the shade but still get some good, warming rays of light by just stepping away from the wall for some meters.

After a long but enjoyable approach, you’ll arrive beneath an awe inspiring vertical masterpiece of rock that demands precision, crimping hard and trusting tiny footholds. Bolter Kostas Roussos describes this place as home to some of the best 6c's on the planet, and I’d add that it also boasts some of Leonidio’s finest 7b lines in the same style. The wall falls into shade in the early afternoon (depending on the season), and since it’s visible from town, it’s worth keeping an eye on it in the days before your visit to avoid burning through precious skin too quickly.

History

Aresos
Remys started this sector in 2015 clearly with the idea of a beginner friendly and climbing course orientated approach. Two more lines were added by two traveling germans some years later.
Pounta
This is another AOS sector, established through the EU-funded development program.
