Angelniemi is located in the Meisala area of Salo. Angelniemi is an old ice climbing destination, that was developed for broader summer climbing use in the beginning of the 2000s. The climbing here is delicate and requires both balance and good footwork. The rock is relatively finger-friendly and the cliff face is located at a peaceful spot. Most routes here are on the harder side. During the winter, an icefall forms (thus the ice climbing).
The routes dry relatively quickly, as the forest in front of the cliff has been cut a few years ago. This also means an increased amount of sun, so plan your visit accordingly. There are also various big birds nesting so you should avoid climbing until the end of June especially on the left end sectors.
