Description

The rock is limestone, quite friendly to the touch mainly on low and medium difficulties.
The hardest problem in the field right now is ‘Underworld’ which a FA from Orfeas Tsiasousis and is graded V11 / 8A.
The number of problems today is about 130, but new ones are constantly being opened and indeed of every degree of difficulty. The development of the field continues continuously as it has many possibilities while recently a new attempt to open sport climbing routes as well.

Camping is an option with free camping in a specific landscaped area at the entrance of the settlement. You should take into account that there are no shops for supplies in the settlement apart from the hotels.

The climate of the prefecture of Imathia is continental, with temperatures in the summer months up to September exceeding 20 degrees, while during the winter season from November onwards, temperatures approach or even drop below zero. The altitude of the field is 1400 metres in a beautiful beach forest. The combination of these two characteristics gives a long climbing season. The best season is from July to November, with ideal conditions on dry autumn days.

History

The crag was discovered in the fall of 2013 by Kostas Pentefountis & Dimitris Papakostaninou.
An important part of the field’s history is the Organization of the Vermio Boulder Festival by the bouldering.gr team. The first festival took place in the fall of 2014 and since then 4 more festivals have followed with the presence of people from mainland Greece and the Balkans being intense and giving the incentive to continue.
