Top out ruins the good climbing on the face

New River Gorge 5.12a.

V-hard

Alex's FA next on the big oatmeal wall.

It was dry so had to do it. =) Also topped it out directly up from the lip, different from the video. Was kind of sketchy.

Big moves between big holds out a 45 degree wall to an awesome mantle.

Classic overhanging arete of the main area.

The second move killed me for a while. Beta change and luck from my foot slipping and hitting a better position helped me stick it the first time.

Really fun moves. Powerful and has a crazy move to the lip.

Repeat ascent post break. I did not find it much harder for me. Could be anywhere from V4+ to a V6. Much harder if you are shorter now I suppose (sub 5'8")

Traverse on a sloping, ascending ledge on the left side of the 45.

Roof Climb. Don't know if it was FA or not. (Doubt it). The end of a painful day. However, one of the projects was sent by Joel!! Sam Crow V10. The left line on the 45.

I believe this was the first ascent? If I'm wrong, let me know. Crazy low percentage dead point problem.

Love this problem. Felt really strong on this and was able to do the toss static. Made a difference.

Face near Studio Voodoo. Move to a left gaston, high right foot and rock into a good pocket.

Dynamic Problem. Sit uses a pocket which I am not a fan of.

Goes up a short arete behind the main boulder field. Only a few moves before pulling onto the slab unfortunately.

Goes up right past the tiny roof instead of pulling onto the slab out left. 1000000 times better than the left route.

Perfectly suited my style. Amazing move to a sidepull and a toss for a jug. As for the grade, I don't know. It was hard and basically built for me. Ill go with the grade I was told.

Waay Hard for the grade. Really fun yet scary.

Good. Better if the tree wasn't an improbability of using.

First V9! Excellent problem even though I feel it may be soft.

It is a known soft problem. What the grade will end up as in the final release of the guide book is unknown.

Good, soft holds and perfect edges.

Dyno! It was fun. Very far. Got to use some pogo action outside!

Very fun climb. Must do for any visitors.

I really liked this problem. It was quality movement up the arete and not super beta intensive like some aretes can be.

Got stuck on top of the boulder! Luckily, a tree fell on the problem from weekend storm and I used it to downclimb.

Fun line. Wasn't really expecting the send as it was my first time actually sticking the mantle move at the end. Good thing I started from the beginning.
