Got on this thing after punting on commodore. Pity about the name. Great climb. Really cool roof climb formed by two boulders pinching down into a crack. Very steep by Frank standards. Worth checking out if you are in the area if for the novelty of horizontal roof climbing alone.

As per Sendage, from one hand on the arete and one on the horn. Could not figure out the first move to the arete. Nice line.

Nice. Too bad it’s not longer. Could be V5 but I’m not sure. Very much in my style so it’s hard to tell.

Found this tricky

One of the better lines at choss for sure. A good introduction to taller climbing and considerably easier than Guano Cone.

Worth doing

Finally did this one. Climbed a lot better than it looks once you find the holds.

Maybe I read this poorly but I found it harder than expected. Fun nevertheless.

Awesome line. About 6 tries. 4 to sort out the moves and 2 redpoint goes. Not sure about the grade. I am quite good in that style but I expected more of a battle.

Enjoyable. I also did a variation that cuts left on crimps to join oyster sock that I called Bull Sock. Worth doing if you are there

Good line. A careful pre-inspection should allow you to avoid the sharp holds.

Short but sweet. We added a traverse line that starts at the left end of the rail, follows the lip and tops out the same. A bit contrived and eliminate as standing up tall eliminates the pump but worth doing if in the area. Goes at V2. Called Bread Knife.

My skin was fried by this point. Felt low in the grade and a bit of a one move wonder to me, but perhaps I just read it well.

Done from the sit. Took a few tries to get the precision. Nice line.

Took a few tries to sort out the mantle. Nice climbing harder than the right exit of the same start holds which lindenbach named Oyster sock, but not by a lot.

Also wet fired off a hold on the first attempt. That’s what I get for climbing after a thunderstorm I guess.

Nice line. Suited me stylistically. Not sure where to put this gradewise. Felt easier than gunslinger or frictionary arete in Frank, and similar to guano cone at choss, but perhaps today was just a low gravity day after being forced to rest through the rain the day before. Either way good climbing. The line to the right starting on the crimps and tending left/up to finish slightly right of this felt a little harder and the two to the right of that felt easier.

Climbed from a sit. Awkward to get into the stand. Felt about V2-3ish for one move.

Found a sneaky kneescum that made the problem feel much easier than the one to the right. Nice climbing.

One of the best at Choss. Middle of the road for the grade but Not to be taken lightly. There are some committing moves up top that require a cool head.

The other standout line.

One of the standouts on the boulder. Made me work a bit.

I really enjoyed this problem. Felt low in the grade for me, certainly easier than aftermath.

Climbed better with the sit start. A nice warmup anyway.

I like less than the line to the left. Fun anyway.

The initial crimp on the sit gave me a bit of trouble. Top climbs easily for the long limbed.

A bit damp, did not read the line properly on the flash go. Nice climbing anyway.

Personally, I enjoyed the original slag heap warrior better but I have long arms. Still fun.

Getting off the ground was tough. Rest of the problem is consistent with the grade.

Tricky

If you have long arms and like reachy movement, this is a problem for you. Personally I enjoyed it more than the low, although that was also nice.

Very fun. Started from the big jug out right as per the route description in the guidebook. Will have to go back for the direct start one day.

Has a sit to add an extra move or two. A decent little warmup.

This was the easiest of the three 2’s for me personally.

Done post broken ear. Felt harder than most of the other 4’s I have done this season. I was also unable to repeat it on a later trip so maybe it is V5. Uncertain. Cool movement anyway.
