Rom and Cola, 5+
Satisfying and popular with a some fine slab and groove climbing. Protection is spaced and route stays wet early in the season. Solo up to the start (a pair of converging grooves), otherwise pitch 1 is much longer than 60m. FA. Arild Meyer, Finn Tore Bjørnstad, Hans Bjørnstad 8.1977. Finn Tore was singing a line from a popular political song called 'Rom and Cola', by the Swedish rock group, Norrbottens Järn, which went something like, "We're drinking rum and cola, laying in the sun, with no worries about tomorrow." The singing stopped when the rain started, on the last pitch.

Last 30 m of 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th on lead. Got lost (went right too soon?) on second pitch and got a true slab adventure. Couldn’t find the walking pitch and somehow got to stance after 5th pitch from the left rather than right. Zig-zaggy and hard to read, rotten rock, altough the jamming pitches in the end were nice. Minus stars still👎🏻

Lead pitches 3 and 7.
Approach is usually pretty wet. So choose waterproof shoes or walk barefoot.
Route finding at pitch 4 was a little bit tricky. But climbing to the left where you see a patch of grass is the way, then you will find the rightwards and upwards going crack of Famous Grouse.
The last pitch was indeed climbing the easiest way up through the bushes.
Descent was done by downclimbing east, then walking towards east towards the green grassy gully. There are some cairns in the end and they lead you to an abseil point.
Then a couple of abseils with some fixed gear. Be prepared to add your own prusiks there, if they look too fishy.
Needless to say, i was scared shitless and could not lead some pitches I intended to. Maybe some training is needed :/
All in all... A nice outing.
