Paul Robinson puts up Bleagle 8B+

Published almost 2 years ago by Alexandra Kahn.

Paul Robinson has been having quite the trip in Rocklands! A few days ago he put up the sit-start to Pinch of Herbs(7C), calling it Herbie (8A). The next day he flashed Amphitheater, originally rated 8A+, but Paul is suggesting soft V11 for the downgrade. For a couple days Paul had been working out the beta sequence on what was Fred Nicole's Black Eagle before it broke. Since the climb was first put up it has broken three times that are known, all of which were holds causing it to be a full grade easier (8B). With all the broken holds, the entire climb has changed and it is much more finicky and difficult. It starts in a different place and has more moves now than it did before. He was able to put up the new line of this boulder last night and is calling it Bleagle (8B+) (Bl (ack) Eagle). On his scorecard he will still refer to the climb as Black Eagle, as Bleagle was just a funny name he used because he was so psyched on the climb. Paul has begun to work the sit-start which is at least a grade harder. He has also been showed a few projects in the area and he has been making some impressive links on Monkey Wedding so we shall see what's next for P-rob!
