New Area found in Rocklands!
Ian Cotter-Brown and Jesse Bonin have recently made quite the discovery in the lower 8 Day Rain sector of Rocklands, South Africa. They have found a new area that consists of 20 or so amazing lines with tons of projects still for the picking. The whole area is a 70m overhanging cliff band that at times is a complete horizontal roof. With a max height of about 7 meters, this area already offers climbs graded 6B-8B+, with potential for even harder grades. Ian and Jesse have named the area Ever-Shade, because none of the climbing is ever in the sun. Some of the classics already include, “Vlad the Impaler” (7C/7C+) and “The Big Short” (8B+). Look forward to a topo of the new area, coming soon to 27crags.com.
