On a recent trip to Magic Wood, and after a few days of effort, Anna Stöhr was able to send The Riverbed 8B. This marks the first female ascent of the climb and the second ascent of an 8B in the world by a female. The Riverbed, originally put up by Dave Graham, is considered to be by all of its ascentionists, in the 8B range. The Riverbed starts on a large roof with easier climbing that leads to a very difficult roof arete crux nearly 12 moves into the climb. The boulder finishes with easier climbing up a tall arete over the rocky beach. This is a monumental send for both Anna and women in climbing. Well done!
